Saint Mary’s is a stewardship community, one that lives out its Gospel call to share its Time, Talent, and Treasure with one another and with those less fortunate. Our practice of stewardship is a constant reminder to us that everything we have comes from our loving God.
Some may think that stewardship is simply a gimmick for raising more money for the Church. This is not so. Jesus was clear about how he wanted us to live: to become involved with others and share with them what we have, not only our treasure, but our time and talent as well. Stewardship is based, then, on God’s Word, and not the fundraising needs of the Church.
As the pastoral letter Stewardship: A Disciple’s Response (1992) states:
A Christian steward is one who shares God’s gifts gratefully, cherishes and tends them in a responsible and accountable manner, shares them in justice and love with others, and returns them with increase to the Lord.
Jesus is a person of Mercy and action, we are called to be the same. We believe God does not hold back His Gifts to us - neither should we! A heartfelt thank-you, to all our parishioners who have given generously of their time and talent to our parish as liturgical ministers, social ministry volunteers, and committee members.
Please prayerfully consider joining their ranks and returning to the Lord and to Saint Mary’s what has been so freely given to you.
