Whether received as an infant, an adult or somewhere in-between, the sacrament of baptism is a celebration. It is through baptism that we are “born again” and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Baptism ensures original sin is forgiven and welcomes us into the body of Christ, which is the Church
The sacrament of reconciliation, or confession, should be received at least once a year, or as soon as possible when one is in a state of serious sin. We celebrate the compassionate forgiveness of our loving God by confessing to a priest who then reconciles the repentant back to God.
The Eucharist, also known as Holy Communion, is the sacrament that celebrates the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ After the bread and wine have been consecrated by the priest, it IS Jesus Christ, here, present, fully, in the host. The Eurcharist is a source of spiritual nourishment and strength for Catholics.
Confirmation is the sacrament by which Catholics receive a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Through Confirmation, the Holy Spirit gives Catholics the increased ability to practice their faith in every aspect of their lives and to witness Christ in every situation.
